I was alone, without friends, and deeply depressed. Every day after school, I would cry, feeling stuck in a dark place.
Then I met Ms. Tea. She listened, encouraged me, and constantly reminded me to "Just do it." With time, I took her advice, stepped out of my comfort zone, and made real friendships. I began going out, having fun, and seeing the light she always believed was there.
Beyond social confidence, she also pushed me academically—helping me improve my study habits and sleep patterns. Without her support, I’m not sure I would have graduated high school or made it to college.
The difference between who I was before meeting her and who I am now is incredible. Ms. Tea’s positivity and mentorship changed my life, and I will forever be grateful. Thank you, Ms. Tea!

I have known Ms. Tea since I was 16, and she was always a safe place for me during difficult times. She listened without judgment and offered unwavering support whenever I needed guidance.
In 2013, she gave me the opportunity to work at the Henderson Haven special needs summer camp, helping me earn the community service hours needed to graduate high school on time. More importantly, her stability and encouragement kept me on track when I was struggling to stay in school.
Ms. Tea’s impact has shaped my own journey—I now strive to support and guide young people as she did for me. She was a mother figure to many, and to this day, we all hold her in the highest regard.

This is a testimony to the profound impact Ms. Tea has had on my life.
Since meeting her in 1998 through her son, she has been a guiding force—not just for me, but for many neighborhood kids. She was a trusted confidante, always offering honest advice and solutions with care and discretion.
As a mother of three, she had a unique ability to connect across generations, providing support, organizing activities, and ensuring we had enriching experiences—from basketball games to Disney trips. She kept many of us on the right path, including myself, shaping our lives in ways we may never fully measure.
Ms. Tea was my second mother—the one I could talk to without judgment, who encouraged and empowered us to explore the world. Her selflessness and dedication to youth have left a lasting impression, and I wholeheartedly believe she is the perfect person to lead a youth center.
